There is another new book just published by Dick B. and Ken B. that further illustrates the difference between old school A.A. (the early A.A. Akron Christian Fellowship founded in 1935) and the new A.A. program that Bill W. said he pulled together from Dr. William Silkworth, Professor William James, and Rev. Samuel Shoemaker, Jr. Bill's new program was spelled out in his first edition of the Big Book and codified the life changing program of the Oxford Group. The Old school program grew out of the biblical roots of A.A. and the Christian upbringing of Dr. Bob and Bill W. It is summarized in 7 points on DR. BOB and the Good Oldtimers, page 131; and its practical application is spelled out in the personal stories in the 1st edition of "Alcoholics Anonymous."
