Summit Conference, International Christian Recovery Coalition, Sat. Sept 24, Golden Hills Community Church, Brentwood

Expecting results just as exciting as those which gave rise to the founding of the International Christian Recovery Coalition in May, 2009, just after our Nationwide Conference of Christian Recovery Leaders at Mariner's Church in Irvine, California, we are delighted at the invitation from Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood, California.

This Northern California Summit Conference will be admission free, feature music, prayer, information on Christian recovery origins and their applicability today, a major speaker on our subject, food, two panels of those presently working and leading in the Christian recovery field across the nation, and a summary. Tables for exhibits will be available to those who want to tell their stories and help fund conference expenses.

We have long wanted to convene two large summit conferences--one in Northern California, and one in Southern California. And the recovery pastor at Golden Hills has made the opportunity available in Brentwood, California--a place where we held one of the finest Christian recovery conferences possible during our last year's tour of California.

We are inviting Christian recovery leaders, workers, newcomers; AAs, NAs, 12-Steppers, Christian Recovery Fellowships, Christian treatment providers, Christian counselors and interventionists, clergy, physicians, therapists, detox specialists, sober living organizations, and a host of new potential supporters from all the vast number of 12-Step and recovery fellowships We hope to see attendance by Celebrate Recovery, Overcomers Outreach, Alcoholics Victorious, YWAM, Teen Challenge, CityTeam, and many individual chaplains, pastors, H and  I work, 12 Step people and others who have outreaches to prisons and jails, at-risk youth work, detention facilities, hospitals, mental wards, Veterans facilities, homeless facilities, street folks, the still suffering drug and alcoholism afflicted, inpatient and outpatient treatment, detox facilities, residential treatment, sober living, and community agencies and others in the recovery arena.

We will have a great speaker with years of experience in all of these areas--a Christian pastor who came from the depths of imprisonment, drug addiction, and fear to a life of involvement in church, Bible, YWAM, Tean Challenge, Celebrate Recovery, treatment and residential treatment, and has a story to tell about his experience and the areas where we hope to see immense progress among those who stress the role that God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Bible played in the origins, history, founding, original program, and successes of the early A.A. Christian fellowship founded in Akron. And the role that they can play in recovery for those who want God's help and need the reinforcement that comes from solid knowledge that they are not alone, that thousands of Christians have recovered from the ravages of alcoholism and addiction through the ages, and that they can share in the same experiences and healing.
