Dick B.’s lifetime of Bible study, legal scholarship and training, 24 years of continuous sobriety, work with more than 100 sponsees, 20 years of historical research, and 39 published titles.

Mission Statement: To glorify God by making known the roles played by God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Bible in the astonishing, 75% and 93% success rates (overall, and documented in Cleveland, respectively) early A.A. claimed among “seemingly-hopeless,” “medically-incurable,” “last gasp,” alcoholics who really tried to follow the original Akron “Christian fellowship” recovery program developed by A.A. cofounders Bill W. and Dr. Bob starting in the summer of 1935.

Resources in This Series:

1. The Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery class by Dick B. and Ken B. [4 DVD's and/or six audio CD's, a Class Guide (for students); and a Class Instructor's Guide];
2. The Dick B. Christian Recovery Guide, 3rd ed., by Dick B. and Ken B. (2010); and
3. The Dick B. 29-Volume, “Christian Recovery Reference Set.”

Class Release Information

• When the new “Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery” class and accompanying resources will be available to you! Many have asked about these materials, and they have been 20 years in preparation. As of now, the Dick B. 29-Volume “Christian Recovery Reference Set” is available. And The Dick B. Christian Recovery Guide, 3rd ed., by Dick B. and Ken B. (2010) has just been released this month (April 2010). Both can be acquired through our main web site: www.DickB.com.

• The two class Guides for the “Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery” class—the Class Instructor’s Guide and the Class Guide (for students)—will be at the printer in the next few days, but will only be available as part of the class package to those individuals and groups licensing the class.

• Bob and Stephanie Tucker of New Life Spirit Recovery in Huntington Beach (http://www.newlifespiritrecovery.com/OC_Recovery.html) generously donated their time to film, edit, and burn onto four DVD's, the four sessions of the “Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery” class in “first pass”/“pilot program” form. We filmed all four class sessions at their Orange County facility on Saturday, March 20, 2010. We are looking forward to receiving the (hopefully) “final” edited version of the DVD's any day now.

• Current “Pilot Programs” using the “Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery” class. We are happy to report that New Life Spirit Recovery in Huntington Beach, California—a Christ-centered treatment center and counselor training program—is preparing to integrate the four “pilot program” DVD's into their Christian treatment schedule. Also, Pacific Hills Treatment Centers—which offers a premier “Christian track” treatment program—has licensed the “pilot program” class and is about to launch the class (and may have already done so) as part of its standard treatment for its clients. We are looking forward to receiving feedback from these two Christian programs as they present the “pilot program” class to their clients.

• How YOU can apply for a site license for the “pilot program” version of the “Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery” class by Dick B. and Ken B.

We intend to license the use of the “Introductory Foundations for Christian Recovery” class on a case-by-case, entity-by-entity basis. This means that Christian treatment (and Christian-track) programs, Christian recovery centers, Christian recovery fellowships and church groups, Christian recovery pastors and clergy, Christian counselors and therapists, sober living facilities, rescue mission facilities, non-profit and government recovery facilities, prison outreach and homeless outreach groups will all have an opportunity to obtain a site license and present the class. Twelve-step fellowships and groups, conferences and seminars, study groups, Big Book and Twelve-step groups, sponsors and facilitators, speakers and sober clubs may also want to make this “pilot program” class available for their people. We will by working very closely with each entity or group that desires to run the “pilot program” version of this class (as we have been with the two Christian treatment programs mentioned above) so that we may help that group or entity develop a plan that is suitable for its particular needs.

• We plan to handle distribution matters within the next two or three weeks. We will send out notices, and post them on our web sites (e.g., www.DickB.com), blogs (e.g., http://mauihistorian.blogspot.com/), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/mauihistorian), and elsewhere. We will invite your application for a site license for the “pilot program” version of the class and will contact those who have already indicated a desire to license the class. And we will deal with applications on a first-come-first-served basis. Please stay tuned. If you are on our “Dick B. FYI Message” list, you will be among the first to hear the news.

Respectfully, Dick B. and Ken B.

I think these people needs the alcoholism treatment that they deserve in order to improve their way of living and have the sobriety they need to set them free from this substance.
