They's still asking is Bill W. was the Founder of A.A. But the "rest of the story" will provide some vital answers

The foregoing article contains a mouthful of disconnected historical people and/or events. It ignores two of the most important pieces of A.A. literature. The first is DR. BOB and the
Good Oldtimers--particularly page 131 which lays out the 7 point summary of the early Akron
A.A. Christian Fellowship founded in June, 1935 by Dr. Bob an d Bill W.. The second is the pamphlet: The Co-Founders of Alcoholics Anonymous: Biographical Sketches Their Last Major Talks. There Dr. Bob points out that as the first three AAs got sober, there were no Steps, no Traditions, no Big Books, no War Stories, and  no meetings as we know them today. Dr. Bob said that they believed the answers to their problem were in the Bible and that Jesus's Sermon on the Mount, 1 Corinthians  13, and the Book of James were considered absolutely essential. Dr. Bob stated emphatically: I did not write the12 Steps. I had nothing to do with the writing of them. Then he says that the basic ideas for the Steps came from the teachings, efforts, and studies of the Bible that had been going on between 1935-1938. There is much more to "the rest of the story." And we will soon be presenting a series of videos with guidebook that should be very helpful. Title? "Bill W., Dr. Bob, and the Cure of Alcoholism: The Rest of the Story.
