On Jan. 9, 2012 “The Hiding Place Fellowship” Will host a guest speaker.

His name is Dick B. From Hawaii, arguably the most informed 12 step historian alive.

Prior to getting clean & sober Dick worked for decades as an investigative attorney. Today,Dick B. is the leading historian and writer on the history and roots of the 12 steps of recovery as founded and developed in Akron, Ohio in the period between 1935 and 1938. He has thoroughly researched and published fifteen major wellsprings of the 12 steps. Dick has done personal interviews with individuals from the first 12 step groups. He compared their information with early records he found in the archives in Washington D.C. and Akron Ohio. His work can be found in 33 published titles, over 170 articles, over 70 audio talks, and on various radio, podcast, and TV presentations. He has spoken all over the United States on this subject. He is a writer, historian, retired attorney, Bible student, and he has sponsored more than 100 men. He has devoted years of research to his topic. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a former Case and Legislation Editor of the Stanford Law Review. He holds an A.A. degree in Economics from University of California Berkeley and A.B. and J.D. degrees from Stanford University. He is a member of numerous professional historical and recovery societies.
